I rang in the new year exactly how I wanted to: a small get-together, dear friends, fireworks, and lots of bubbly. Going out and dealing with crowds just didn't sound appealing this year. So instead, we gathered at a friend's house. It was wonderful to actually hear each other and just be our silly selves. There was a lot of awkward dancing. There was a lot of laughter. There were a lot of humorous/thoughtful reflections. It really is about the company you are with, rather than what you do.
