why not you?

I absolutely love this quote by my fitness guru, Jillian Michaels. There is so much truth to it. But seriously..

Why not you?
We are all incredibly capable of whatever we set our minds to, especially when it comes to our lifestyle and our bodies. This is the one thing we can be in control of. We are the masters of our vessels. We choose what we put in our mouths, and we choose what we make our bodies do.

Being healthy and fit isn't just for fitness models. Nor does it come easy for them. They put work into everything they do. So can you. It is just a matter of deciding whether you want to or not. It is a matter of deciding whether you are worth it or not. Well, aren't you?

Aren't you deserving of living longer, feeling confident, and having a fully functioning body? I think so. When it comes down to it, it's a matter of believing in yourself and making yourself a priority. It's not selfish, it's living as you choose.

There will be doubters. There will be people who don't understand. Don't let them deter you from your goals. It's just perhaps they haven't realized that they are worth living a healthy lifestyle. They want to bash on those who look and feel better than they do as they eat their Big Mac. Who cares? That's their choice, and there's no reason to look down on them, just as they have no reason to look down on you.

I always have people who poke fun, or have hurtful things to say. Some are sarcastic, some are blatant with their opinions. What's funny is that I've been on this journey for three years, so why the hell would I let them stop me now? This is my life. This is my choice. Their jokes and rudeness are simply more fuel to my fire. I refuse to quit. I refuse to let the opinions of others make me feel foolish for doing something good for myself, and for sharing it with others who are on a similar path.

You deserve to sweat. You deserve to feel sore. You deserve to eat fresh foods. You deserve the results.

  1. I couldn't agree more! I was doing really really well and then life got in the way! Eating is never a prob for me, but I have a hard time keeping up with everything fitness related during life's little obstacles. I'm in the process of really getting back into my fitness routine so I can finally get where I want to be. Thanks for the inspiration!!! =)
