My Sprinkle for Baby Quinn

This past Sunday was my sprinkle for Quinn. Some have asked what a "sprinkle" is and how it differs from a baby shower. It's basically a more intimate, toned down shower for your second (or third or fourth) baby. Everyone is so excited about a girl joining the family - we had to celebrate. Plus, gifts are always appreciated!

My shower for Jaxin was at my home, which was beautiful, but also a lot of work. Between cleaning the house before (and after), providing the food and drink, and turning the house upside down, boarding the dogs, it's a lot. I knew this time around, I wanted to have it at a restaurant.

I was sooo happy to work with The Henry in hosting my sprinkle. It's one of my favorite places in the valley because of its atmosphere, food, and service. They have private event spaces for special occasions, which is perfect. We decided the Chef's Test Kitchen would be best for the vibe I was going for.

Once I nailed down the space and date, it was time to do invitations and decorations. This is where my angel of a sister came in. She has creative vision and knows how to execute well. She also designs invitations. I basically won the lottery in sisters when it comes to event planning (and other things too - obvi).

She had the idea of pom-poms, which I loved. I'm not a huge "theme" person, which is funny because I loved theme parties in college. That's another story. I think I'm more of a "color scheme" gal, which you see translates in Jaxin's nursery and will soon see with Quinn's. For my sprinkle I really liked the idea of blush tones and white.

After stocking up on craft supplies at Hobby Lobby, we got our team together for a DIY night. The team included my sister, mom, and best friend. They brought wine, we ate pizza, and we made a lot of pom-poms and tassels. There was yarn fuzz everywhere and I think we were all delirious by the end of the night. My husband definitely went and hid upstairs.

Other details, included:

• Glass vases and gold charger plates from the Dollar Tree. 
• Custom menus designed to match invitation (by my sister).
• Yarn tassles for menus and napkins. 
• Pom-pom banner with "QUINN" spelled out.
• Our Cuddle and Kind dolls (Mia and Ellie). They are hand-knit and really went with the vibe. 
• Photos of my family and my bump. Matt, Jax, and I took self-timer photos on a white wall with a tripod. I found these super affordable frames at Target to put them in.
• Clear balloons from Amazon.
• Flowers in all shades of pink ordered from the grocery store. 
• A "naked cake" made by my mom. She used the Trader Joe's boxed vanilla cake (it's SO good) and my favorite strawberry buttercream recipe.
• Newborn diapers for party guests to write messages on.
• DIY tassle keychains as party favors.
• Sugar cookies (made by me) as party favors.

We were able to set everything up an hour before my sprinkle began. I feel like everything was pretty budget-friendly and so rewarding to do ourselves! I couldn't have done it without my three best gals.

So those are the behind-the-scenes deets!

My closest family and friends came to celebrate. We enjoyed brunch and mimosas. There was a lot of laughter and talk about our kids. We ate cake and opened gifts (I had a registry through Baby List). Matt and Jax came at the end to say "hello" and "thank you." It was the perfect day!
