a lifestyle blog

goodbye for now

Sometimes I feel like I'm just going through the motions with this blog. Putting together fashion wish lists, recipes, or talking about products I love. The only problem is, I don't want it to be simply "going through the motions." I started this blog because writing is something I've always loved to do.

So, to get back that spark I'm going to start doing something a little different on here. Think of it as something similar to a journal. It's about to get personal, people! You can still look forward to my regular Sunday Sparks, WILW, and Foodie Fridays.

Sooo, here we go.

Isn't he just a stud? Insert 'hearts for eyes 'emoji here.

Matt heads out for tour tonight, which stinks. Oh, Matt is my fiance. I've always referred to him as "boyfriend" or "fiance." It's weird to call him Matt on here.

Anyways, we had a good two solid months together, which is pretty much unheard of with his job. Most people know his job, but for those who don't, he's the drummer for blessthefall. Take a listen! Pop that on at the gym and you'll be lifting heavier weights. For real. He's away from home about 9-10 months out of the year. So, like I said, having two whole months with him was a treat.

I knew what I was getting into, and I've been along for the ride the past two years. I thought I would get accustomed to saying goodbye and the distance, but I'm not. Saying goodbye is just as hard as it was the first time. It's totally tough. Especially the first night. I cry like a little baby. That is always the hardest for some reason. Probably because his smell is still on the pillow next to me, but he's not.

The best thing I can do is try to stay busy and spend time doing the things I love. Reminding myself of "it could be worse" helps too. He could be deployed!

What are some was you cheer yourself up?

  2. I feel your pain Brianna! My fiancé works away as well and in the past 7 months I've seen him for a total of three weeks! It's excruciating but like you said we signed up for it and if your relationship is as happy as mine is than it's totally worth it for the times that they are home :)

P.S. Very excited that you're getting more personal on the blog!!!

  3. I'm excited about what you have in store for your blog! I've been a long time follower! Just recently started posting my own posts and you are such an inspiration. Now I gotta figure out how everyone makes theirs so prettttyyyy! Anyways, that really stinks about your fiancé but my best advice is to stay busy busy busy. Find a new recipe, try a new restaurant, schedule some hang outs with friends, check out a new book!
