Punta Mita, Mexico | Our Stay at the Four Seasons

My family and I recently traveled to Punta Mita, Mexico. It was our first big family vacation and it was the BEST, besides the flying with a hyperactive toddler part. Punta Mita is the perfect mix of jungle and beach, and staying at the Four Seasons was DREAMY. It's right on the white-sand beach and the grounds are green and filled with wildlife - like iguana and ring-tailed coati. The pool overlooks the ocean and the beach is private with it's own gelato shack and coco stand. Don't get me started on the food - the breakfast buffet being my favorite with fresh fruit sprinkled with Tajin and chilaquiles. Oh, and the churro stand with fresh cinnamon sugar goodness!
Besides all of this, the staff made us feel right at home. No one passed by without saying buenos días/tardes/noches. They welcomed us with fresh juice, lemongrass towelettes, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries. Plus, they set up a crib filled with personalized goodies for Jaxin that included baby toiletries, bath toys, swim diapers, and plush whale. Our room was always left immaculate, and they even arranged Jaxin's Toy Story figurines differently each day. Their attention to detail did not go unnoticed by this detail-oriented mama.
With us on the trip, were my mom and my sister's family. My mom had been planning this trip for quite some time and then Matt changed careers and I became pregnant. Matt was able to request vacation days and I received clearance from my doctor, so we were finally able to book it. Family time away was just what we all needed. I was able to get some quality time with my mom and sister at the spa, where we all received massages. Matt was able to get some quality time with my brother-in-law at a tequila tasting. When my nephews weren't glued to Jaxin, they went to the kid's club and did all sorts of crafts. There was something for all of us, besides the beach time and floating down the lazy river and sipping on virgin piña coladas by the pool. Even Jax got to enjoy Icees by the pool in his own miniature cabana!
While most of our trip was spent at the resort, we did venture to Sayulita for an afternoon. It is a colorful beach town about 20 minutes away. We walked the cobblestone streets, admired the cute street pups, and found a few souvenirs to bring home. We even saw Chris Harrison, who was most likely there for the filming of Bachelor in Paradise. That was a treat for me because The Bachelor franchise is my guilty pleasure.
I honestly had post-vacation blues upon arriving home, but can you blame me? I'm already dreaming of going back. You can watch a mini vacation recap here.
